Building Momentum: St. Louis Hinder Club Construction Update

The incredible club members and volunteers of the new St. Louis Hinder Club have been steadily progressing on our construction goals. Over the past few weekends, we’ve reached several exciting milestones, and we’re thrilled to share the latest updates with you!

Court Progress

  • First Court "Ready for Play": The first court is now ready for action! Eric Schmidt and Eric Hillgren had the honor of breaking in the court against Jeff Streibig and Brian Watson in a thrilling match that ended 21-18. This is just the beginning of many amazing games to be played at our new location.

  • First Court Floors and Walls: We’re currently finishing the floors and painting the walls, ensuring the courts are in top shape for future play.

  • Second Court Renovations: We have been tirelessly prepping the walls to be painted and the backdoor has been fixed with a working latch.

  • Back Courts Maintenance: We continued to clean up the back two courts, scraped glue and paint off the courts, pulling up all old flooring and prepping for the new floors to be placed.

Major Clean-Up

  • Outdoor Clean-Up: A major clean-up effort outside involved trimming overgrown vegetation and hauling it off the property, making the surroundings as inviting as the courts themselves.

  • Indoor Clean-Up: A deep cleaning of baseboards, walls, and crown molding that were caked in layers of dust and dirt accumulated over many years. With major cleaning completed, we were able to prep the space for painting. This step is crucial for transforming the interior and giving it a vibrant, welcoming look.

  • Mechanical Room Upgrades: We also did a deep cleaning of the mechanical room and prepped it for painting.

Additional Improvements & Updates

  • Lobby and Hall Painting: We started priming all of the walls, beams, baseboards and crown molding in the Lobby, to be ready for final paint.

  • Land & Occupancy Permitting: All required drawings and applications have been submitted to Hazelwood, for approvals.

The progress made so far is a testament to the dedication and hard work of our club members and volunteers. We’re excited to continue sharing updates as we move closer to the grand opening of the new St. Louis Hinder Club. Stay tuned for more news and upcoming events!
