We’re thrilled to announce that the St. Louis Hinder Club will be hosting its very first tournament in our new facility: the USHA 4-Wall Junior Nationals, from December 27–30! This is a historic moment for the club, as it’s the first time in over 50 years that this prestigious event will take place in St. Louis, and the first ever tournament in the new facility. This achievement is a testament to the incredible progress we’ve made, the dedication of our volunteers, and the unwavering support of our community.
From Vision to Reality
Over the past year, we have made significant strides in transforming our vision for the St. Louis Hinder Club into a state-of-the-art handball facility. It has been a challenging but rewarding journey, and we couldn’t have done it without the hard work and enthusiasm of our club members and field experts.
Many dedicated club members and volunteers played pivotal roles in making this dream a reality. From extensive construction projects to detailed finishing touches, their efforts have ensured that we are not only ready to host tournaments but also to serve as a vibrant hub for the handball community.
Facility Upgrades and Milestones
Outdoor Improvements:
Major upgrades were made to the parking lot to meet land-use and occupancy permit requirements.
Grading along the east side of the building now ensures proper rainwater diversion.
Parking lot asphalt was patched, sealed & striped.
Indoor Enhancements:
Thanks to the incredible expertise and leadership of Brandon Muir, two new courts were framed in record time. This preparation paved the way for Sports Unlimited to step in and install the walls & ceilings.
All four court floors have been meticulously finished with court lines painted and sealed. Court lights have been installed ensuring Courts 3 & 4 are tournament-ready.
Our members have been hard at work cutting old floorboards, preparing them to be placed in the back two repurposed courts.
Newly added astro turf was laid to enhance the gym space.
With these improvements, we officially passed all outdoor and indoor occupancy inspections and hosted our first Open House, welcoming members to their new home.
A Warm Welcome and Exciting Times Ahead
The inaugural "Murph's Match of the Week," was recorded during our Open House event, featuring some thrilling games and interviews with members. If you haven’t already, subscribe to the St. Louis Handball YouTube Channel for behind-the-scenes updates, match footage, and exciting announcements.
